Welcome to the Alresford Pigs Quiz Night
This is available for the personal use only of those invited to this site by Andrew Wilcox.  The quiz is not to be downloaded and used for public or private quizzes.

If you would like a quiz in this format for use in a pub or club type quiz format or perhaps for a quiz on a specific topic to test the knowledge of job candidates or business tests or examinations,  please contact
Andrew Wilcox via email or phone 01962 738534.

Andrew can provide a quiz branded for you, with  question/answer sheets for the scorers, team score sheet and an answer sheet for the contestants.  The questions which were too difficult for anyone to answer on the 7/2/3  would be altered or replaced and the scores on that night removed.    You can provide your own rules, a local round and/or other rounds.  Andrew would be pleased to generate a new round for you.

The quiz would be provided to you as a zip file.   You will require Internet Explorer 6 to get the result Andrew intended.  If you use sound files you will need a suitable player. Images must be gif, jpg or pnc of an appropriate size.

To see the quiz as it was intended: either use a screen setting of 800x600 or set your browser window to about this size. Run the browser with the toolbars on auto hide.  If using 800x600 screen setting, auto hide the windows toolbar.

To navigate the quiz:

> Click on the round to reveal the question page.

> Scroll/page down to reveal the questions.

> Return to the top of the page and click Next Answer, to see the answers for the round.  The number in a coloured circle is how many teams got the answer correct on the night.  No number and no team could answer the question.

> Click on a question to go straight to the answer.  Use the browser's back button to return to the questions.

> Click on Quiz Map to select another round.

For copyright reasons some of the pictures and songs have been removed.  If you click one of these links you will get an error message. Use your back button to return to the quiz.

On the night all pictures and music files were contained within one web site stored on a laptop PC.  This was connected to an LCD projector, amplifier and microphone. The quiz was run from the laptop using the standard browser buttons and those built into the web site.  The browser was run full screen with the tool bars on auto hide, as was the Windows taskbar.

Apart the removal of the first lines of some questions by a last minute edit and a couple of questions with incorrect or disputed answers all went well.  The correct answer to the Salisbury question can now be seen in question 7.3.  Question 8.8 is now revealed fully for the first time.

Some statistics about the scoring:
All five teams had the right answer to the question 23 times, 4 teams -13 times, 3-10, 2-13, 1-18. No team answered the question 23 times.  My problem not theirs.

Their worst rounds were Round 1 The Last 365 Days, Round 4 Visual Questions and Round 10 Porcine Plexity each with four questions no team could could answer.   Their best rounds with all the teams getting the same four questions correct were: Round 5 Sport and Round 6 Local Knowledge

The winners scored  64 out of a possible 120 Trotters and unfortunately for my wife Tricia she was in the winning team.  She says she did not answer the one or two questions she knew by wandering into my office adn she already knew the music ones!

There were no technical failures of the web site or the hardware. Phew!

So, I made the questions a bit to hard for the Pigs.  Are they too difficult for you?
